This service is very simple. I only have one requirement and that is COMMUNICATION. I ,also, ask that we have either monthly or quartely phone calls to see how things are going. This is the only way that this service can work successfully. If you want to call me weekly or daily that is fine as well. During my years of billing I have come to realize that communication is the key to success. It is an even more critical issue when you are doing remote billing, simply because we have no eye contact with the office. I depend on you, the provider, to give me any pertinent information needed to file the claims properly.
WHAT IS REMOTE ACCESS
The way we work this is via remote connection. I know that some of you may understand what this is but there are some that may not. Therefore, I will take a little time to talk about it. If you have a billing system such as office therapy, this program is physically on your computer. The only way that I can have access is to be physically in your office or dial in via remote access. There several companies that offer this service. A few that I have used are gotomypc and logmein. These services would need to be installed on your computer. When you purchase these services, you will need to decide on a user id and password.
Once you have figured this out, you would give me the user id and password which would allow me access to your computer. I would also need to be able to log into a computer that will be left on at all times and is not being used by anyone. If you can only allow me access in the evenings, that is fine. We would just need to work out the details. I have had some people to use laptops and some to use regular desktop computers and they both work fine. If the computer is turned off, I would not be able to log into your system to complete my work.
Another way of working this service is for you to have a service such as myclientsplus. If you have this type of service, you would not need remote access because I could log directly into your program. I can do this because this service is not a program on your computer. It is an online service. If you don't have software, please don't worry because I have software that I can use to do your billing.
HOW WILL I GET YOU THE INFORAMTION TO FILE CLAIMS
Now, you might be wondering how will I get the information to you. I offer an 800 fax number for you to fax me your information. If you don't have a treatment log or any of the forms needed for me to file your claims, don't worry because I have everything you will need. I can email or fax them to you. In the past, I have had clients to fax me the information to a secure fax line that comes directly to me. It is always on and it is secure. You can also scan and email if you would like to do that. I have a way to encrypt the email if you prefer that method. If you would like to use the us postal service, federal express or UPS, you are more than welcome to do that also and I will give you the address to deliver that too.
